Santorini & Mykonos Tours

Mykonos and Santorini, the two most important and most touristic islands of Greece, giving you the chance to feel yourself in different worlds.

SANTORINI

Santorini is one of the most luxurious and romantic getaways, each year hundreds of couples choose this destination for their honeymoons.

Santorini, as we know it today, is what remains following a huge volcanic explosion in 17th century BC. All settlements were destroyed and a caldera, lagoon of seawater, was created. The caldera is surrounded on 3 sides by steep cliffs and on the 4th side by Thirassia island. Although the volcano is still active there is currently no risk of it erupting. Santorini is comprised of 5 islands with the main island being called Santorini (Thira), the two Kameni islands are at the centre and Thirasia and Aspronisi on the periphery.

According to the myth, Santorini is the ancient city of Atlantis that was submerged over 9500 years ago. Nea Kameni is a small island at the centre of the crater, caldera, its red and black rocks create a unique landscape.

Sightseeing is a favoured option in Santorini. Examine the traditional Cycladic architecture in Oia and Fira, explore the dramatic rocky landscape and wonder at the important ancient site Minoan Akrotiri that was covered entirely in volcanic ash when the volcano erupted. The ancient site of Thera has breathtaking views from the hill above Perissa. Santorini is one of the most popular destinations worldwide, the hotels located in the towns surrounding the caldera are the most expensive due to the spectacular views.

MYKONOS

Located in the centre of the Cyclades islands group, Mykonos is famous for its nightlife and cosmopolitan atmosphere. During your stroll around Mykonos town, the main things to see are Little Venice quarter, where houses (now converted into bars) are situated precariously on the edge of the sea, the church of Paraportiani, the windmills were built in the 16th century and were once used for grain milling, the Maritime and Cycladic museums and the designer shops.

Due to the strong winds in the summer afternoons, windsurfing and kitesurfing are popular sports. Mykonos is perfect for diving and many of the dive centres offer dive trips to uninhabited islands.

The island of Delos is a short boat ride from Mykonos. According to mythology Delos is the birthplace of Apollo (god of music) and his twin sister Artemis (goddess of hunting).

Since the 1960s Mykonos has been attracting many international celebrities in their expensive yachts and luxury hotels offering 5 star service.

Look out for the pelicans which have now become the mascot of Mykonos.
