Yacht Chartering Process
YACHT CHARTERING PROCESS
The booking process, like your time spent aboard a charter, is designed to be easy and self-explanatory. Your charter booking process is highly personalised and handled by expert yacht brokers who will provide qualified advice and act as the main line of communication throughout the entire process.
A vast array of luxury yachts are available for charter, all with first-class facilities. The type of yacht that you choose will depend on your idea of the perfect charter vacation. Whether you prefer the space and comfort of a large motor yacht; a performance motor yacht packed with toys and tenders, or the romance and adventure of a sailing yacht, we can help you find your ideal luxury charter yacht.
The Albatrosyachting.com Charter Search enables you to view the most up-to-date and comprehensive information on hundreds of motor and sailing yachts available for charter. Filter your search by destination; yacht type; number of guests; length of stay; price; builder, or yacht length. With such extensive search options, you can easily find the yachts which best suit your preferences.
Once you have selected some of your favourite yachts for charter, simply contact the relevant broker through a yacht’s charter page. Each yacht’s charter page contains several ways to contact the relevant broker directly: you can send an enquiry; request a call back, or view the broker’s company profile and contact information. If your chosen yacht is not linked to a broker, use the Find Broker tab to search for a broker by company name, an individual broker’s name or by country.
The brokers listed with Albatrosyachting.com are reputable professionals who offer a wealth of experience. They can provide expert advice about the right charter options for you.
Once you have booked your charter, the next step, and perhaps one of the most exciting, is designing your personalised itinerary. The brokerage firm will generally offer their own suggestions, but your own preferences are of the utmost importance.
You will need to decide how to arrive at your first point of call, where you will board the yacht. Flights or any onshore accommodation arrangements can be organised by the broker or you may choose to book independently: the choice is yours.
A Charter Agreement is compiled by the broker, detailing the chosen charter yacht, cruise dates, intended destinations and cost. You are required to sign and return the document to the broker if you are satisfied that it meets your needs. This is also when the first payment will be required. Generally this amount is 50 percent of the charter fee, but terms should be discussed with your broker beforehand.
The charter fee usually covers the cost of the charter, equipment, crew wages and crew provisions. Additional costs are outlined below.
