About Albatros Yachting
How long has Albatros Yachting been operating?
We have been operating from Fethiye Marina since 2005, building and chartering gulets, motor yachts, sailing yachts, and catamarans along the Turkish and Greek coastlines.
Does Albatros Yachting build its own boats?
Yes. We operate our own shipyard in Fethiye, where we build gulets and motor yachts. This means we know the construction and maintenance history of our owned vessels directly, rather than relying on third-party information.
Do you only operate boats you own, or do you also broker other vessels?
Both. We operate a fleet of boats we own and built ourselves, and we also broker external vessels to offer guests a wider range of options across Turkey and the Greek islands.
Where are you located?
Our main office and marina base is at Fevzi Çakmak Cd. No:27, Yat Limanı, Fethiye, Turkey. We also have offices in Germany and Spain for European clients.
Are you a member of any industry associations?
Yes. Albatros Yachting is a member of TYBA (Turkish Yachting and Boating Association), and all our vessels operate under Turkish Maritime Authority certification.
Booking and Pricing
How do I book a charter?
Contact us with your preferred dates, group size, and departure port. We’ll propose suitable vessels with pricing, and a deposit (typically 50% of the charter fee) confirms the booking. The balance is usually due 2 to 4 weeks before departure.
How much does a gulet charter cost?
Pricing depends on vessel size, cabin count, build specification, season, and route. As a general guide, a well-maintained 6-cabin gulet with professional crew for a week in the Turkish Aegean typically ranges from 6,000 to 120,000 EUR. Contact us for an exact quote on specific vessels.
What’s included in the charter price?
Standard inclusions are the vessel, professional crew, fuel for the agreed itinerary, port fees in Turkish waters, and on most charters, full board (all meals and standard drinks). Alcoholic beverages beyond a standard allowance, Greek port fees if crossing borders, and optional excursions are typically additional.
When is the best time to book?
Peak season (July and August) books up earliest, often months in advance. For June or September departures, booking 4 to 8 weeks ahead is usually sufficient, though earlier is always safer for popular vessels.
Can I pay in installments?
Yes, our standard structure is a deposit to confirm the booking followed by the balance before departure. Specific payment terms can be discussed when you inquire.
Choosing a Vessel
What’s the difference between a gulet, a motor yacht, a sailing yacht, and a catamaran?
A gulet is a traditional wooden vessel built for comfort and stability, typically motoring more than sailing. A motor yacht covers more distance faster, with a more contemporary interior. A sailing yacht suits smaller groups wanting an active, wind-dependent experience. A catamaran offers excellent stability through its twin-hull design, suiting families and anyone prone to seasickness. We cover this comparison in detail in our gulet vs. catamaran guide.
How many guests can a gulet accommodate?
Our gulet fleet ranges from 2-cabin vessels accommodating around 4 guests to larger gulets with up to 36 guests across 18 cabins.
Do I need sailing experience to charter a boat?
No. All our charters are fully crewed with a professional captain and crew. You are a guest, not crew, regardless of the vessel type.
Can I see the vessel before booking?
We provide detailed photos, layouts, and specifications for every vessel in our fleet. In-person viewings can sometimes be arranged depending on your location and timing — ask us directly.
Routes and Itineraries
What routes do you offer from Fethiye?
Our most popular routes include the 3-day Fethiye–Ölüdeniz loop, the 7-day Fethiye–Göcek–Ekincik loop (our most recommended first-charter route), and extended 10 to 14-day voyages into the Greek Dodecanese including Rhodes, Symi, and Kos. Full details are in our blue cruise routes guide.
Can we cross into Greek waters?
Yes, with advance planning. Crossing requires Greek transit logs and port clearance, which we arrange directly. We recommend confirming this request at the time of booking so paperwork is ready before departure.
Can the itinerary be customized?
Yes. We plan every route collaboratively based on your group’s priorities — swimming and relaxing, historical sites, lively harbor towns, or quiet isolation. The captain’s local knowledge shapes the day-to-day details once you’re on the water.
What happens if the weather doesn’t cooperate?
The captain makes all weather-related decisions and adjusts the itinerary as needed for safety and comfort. The Turkish Aegean is generally calm from June through September, but routes are always flexible around conditions.
Which departure ports do you support?
Most of our charters depart from Fethiye Marina, and we also support departures from Göcek, Marmaris, and Bodrum depending on the vessel and route.
Life on Board
Is food included?
On our crewed charters, full board is standard. The crew shops, cooks, and serves all meals, and we discuss dietary preferences and restrictions before departure.
What is a typical day like on board?
Mornings start slowly with breakfast on deck, followed by a short cruise to the next anchorage. Afternoons are spent swimming, relaxing, or exploring nearby coves, with dinner served at anchor in the evening. The schedule is unhurried and adjusts to what the group wants.
What’s the crew-to-guest ratio?
Typically between 1:3 and 1:4 depending on the vessel, which keeps service quality high without feeling intrusive.
Is privacy maintained for guests who request it?
Yes. We have hosted high-profile guests, including well-known public figures, and privacy on the water is something we take seriously and protect strictly.
Practical Questions
Is it safe for families with young children?
Yes. Catamarans and larger gulets in particular suit families well due to their stability, and our crew is experienced with guests of all ages.
What should I pack for a gulet charter?
Lightweight clothing, swimwear, a hat and sunscreen, comfortable deck shoes or sandals, and a light jacket for evenings are the basics. We can provide a more detailed packing guide on request.
Do you provide snorkeling or water sports equipment?
Most vessels carry basic snorkeling gear and a tender for swimming stops. Specific equipment availability varies by vessel — ask us about what’s included on the boat you’re considering.
How do I get to Fethiye Marina?
Fethiye is served by Dalaman Airport, roughly 45 minutes away by road. We can advise on transfers once your charter is confirmed.
